Tasks Summary

You will familiarize with AAH environment and climate requirements and policies, and with the organization's resilience, humanitarian, and DRR/DP policy documents. You will support conducting Environment, DRR/DP/HA and climate change assessments and analysis; identify environment and climate risks and mainstream risk mitigation measures across project cycles; monitor and analyze current global and local trends in climate change and DRR interventions and their relevance and integration to the missions’ programs and participate in Clusters and other relevant coordination platforms. You will support the development of inclusive strategies to ensure environment, climate change and disaster issues are addressed throughout the project cycle; provide relevant trainings; conduct DRR and Climate Change Stakeholders (CSOs, Donors, and others) Mapping, identify potential partners. You will support the technical coordinators to strengthen capacities in proposal development and report writing. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements Accommodation, travel costs, visa, pre-deployment medical check + vaccinations (only if mandatory for the country), allowance will be covered. In case of need, a Fewer Opportunities Support will also be covered. A monthly Subsistence Lump Sum will be provided to cover basic needs such as food and personal hygiene items. Training during the activity Training during deployment will also be offered to improve the volunteer’s skills and competences. Participant profile Studies and/or experience in disaster risk reduction, climate change, environment studies, WASH, social sciences or international development. French C1. Familiar with DRR and Climate change mainstreaming concepts and approaches in projects/programs; skills to assess/manage DRR and Climate change outputs, outcomes, and impacts; computer/IT skills. High analytical capacity; effective communication, facilitation, and synthesis; an asset familiarity with mainstreaming differentiated impacts of hazards and climate change to vulnerable communities and with gender concepts/framework used by donors.
