Overview
The Driver is responsible for operating IOM office vehicles and ensuring their roadworthiness. The role involves managing vehicle maintenance, record-keeping, and adhering to security procedures.
Tasks Summary
- Drive assigned IOM office vehicle(s).
- Manage day-to-day maintenance of assigned vehicle(s) to ensure roadworthiness.
- Arrange for minor repairs and ensure vehicles are kept clean.
- Ensure vehicles undertake regular service intervals.
- Keep records of spare parts and conduct monthly inventory.
- Find the most direct and safe route to the destination.
- Ensure IOM vehicle(s) is used only for official/authorized business.
- Prepare daily log sheet and monthly report summarizing mileage and fuel consumption.
- Maintain confidentiality and discreteness in discussions involving IOM.
- Take actions to reduce potential security threats.
- Meet official personnel at airports and facilitate immigration/customs formalities.
- Collect and deliver mail, documents, and other communications/items.
- Assist country office staff in performing simple clerical duties when needed.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience.
- Knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
- Experience in driving a variety of makes and models of vehicles.
- Skills in minor vehicle repairs.
- Knowledge of radio, email, telephone and other applications.
- Safe and defensive driving skills with strong knowledge of local routes and road conditions.
- Basic vehicle maintenance and record-keeping abilities.
- High sense of responsibility, confidentiality, and adherence to security procedures.
Qualification Requirements
- High school degree/certificate or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid national driver’s licence.
