Overview
Seeking an Investment Manager to join a new impact investing arm focused on early-stage businesses in Africa and MENA. The role involves sourcing, evaluating, and managing investments to drive humanitarian outcomes through private-sector innovation.
Tasks Summary
- Identify and cultivate relationships with startups, accelerators/incubators, and investors across Africa
- Lead due diligence processes including market analysis, financial modeling, and impact assessment
- Develop Investment Memos for the Investment Committee
- Support portfolio companies post-investment through strategic guidance and fundraising support
- Contribute to sector mapping and refining investment theses
- Represent Airbel Ventures in regional investor networks and events
- Support the CEO on fundraising, portfolio strategy, and internal stakeholder engagement
Experience Requirements
- 6–10 years of experience in venture capital, impact investing, development finance, or management consulting (with exposure to early-stage investing)
- Experience within the African startup ecosystems
- Comfort working across diverse sectors and geographies
- Strong networks across the African startup ecosystem
Qualification Requirements
Master’s degree in finance, business, economics, or related field preferred
