Overview

Assisting with special projects and social media outreach for the CTED, including content creation and event support.


Tasks Summary
  • Assist with special projects and social media outreach on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Craft content for social media platforms.
  • Edit and subtitle videos using Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Create visuals using Canva or Adobe Photoshop.
  • Develop long-term content for the CTED website.
  • Assist in the production of Instagram Stories.
  • Attend events to gather quotes, photos, and videos.
  • Research trends and suggest retweets/regrams.
  • Monitor social media accounts for comments and questions.
  • Take an active role in live event coverage.
  • Support external presentations.
  • Contribute suggestions for digital communications.
  • Assist in preparing background notes and talking points.
  • Attend and take notes at meetings, conferences, and events.
  • Assist in preparing summaries and reports of discussions.
  • Analyze issues of concern in counter-terrorism.
  • Gather, select, and analyze data from communications and publications.
  • Assist in preparing CTED’s monthly newsletter.
  • Assist in activities to support the Executive Director.
  • Assist in preparing documents for meetings, workshops, and seminars.
  • Take on other special projects as assigned.

Experience Requirements

Qualification Requirements
  • Enrolled in the third or final academic year of a first university degree programme in communication, journalism, political science, international relations, law disarmament, security, development management, or conflict resolution.
  • Minimum: Associate degree Bachelor’s level or equivalent.
  • Selected candidate must commence the internship programme prior to graduation.
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English is required.

Contract Duration: Part-time for 3 to 6 months

Work Modality: New York

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
