Overview
Provides technical support for the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of social policy programming and advocacy. Focuses on improving public policies to reduce child poverty, social protection coverage, public investments for children, and governance for social services.
Tasks Summary
- Supports collection, analysis, and presentation of data on child poverty and vulnerability
- Analyzes macroeconomic context and its impact on social development and children
- Supports development of social protection policies, legislation, and programmes for children
- Promotes strengthening of integrated social protection systems and linkages with other interventions
- Undertakes budget analysis to inform advocacy and technical assistance for child-focused public investments
- Supports identification of policy options for domestic financing of child-sensitive social protection
- Undertakes and builds capacity for monitoring and tracking public expenditure
- Collaborates with authorities to improve policies, planning, budgeting, and accountability for child-focused social services
- Supports use of data and evidence for advocacy and partnerships for child-sensitive social policy
Experience Requirements
- Experience in implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of social policy programming and advocacy
- Experience in programmes aimed at improving public policies to reduce child poverty
- Experience in social protection coverage and impact on children
- Experience in transparency, adequacy, equity, and efficiency of child-focused public investments and financial management
- Experience in governance, decentralization, and accountability measures to increase public participation and quality, equity, and coverage of social services
- Experience in direct programme work with government and civil society partners
- Experience in linkages and support to teams working on education, health, child protection, water and sanitation, and HIV
