Overview

Support the legal team on a broad spectrum of legal matters, including commercial contracts, partnerships, disputes, programmes, and institutional matters. Prepare legal documentation and manage cases and clients.

Experience Requirements

• At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in paralegal work or otherwise supporting the work of a legal team is required.
• Experience in a law firm or in the legal office of an international organization is highly desirable.
• Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is desirable.

Qualification Requirements

• A minimum of a high-school diploma or equivalent supplemented by specialized training or technical courses related to the scope of the job description.
• A Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) from a recognized academic institution in a field relevant to the position may replace 3 years of related work experience.
• A Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) may replace an additional 2 years.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset. Proficiency in another language is also desirable, including, for example, Portuguese.

Contract Duration: 24 months
