Overview
Provide technical assistance to the Provincial Government of PNG and the provincial and district Child and Family Services to strengthen the child protection system in Morobe Province.
Tasks Summary
- Provide technical support to roll out the provincial engagement framework, including sector annual planning and budget formulation.
- Strengthen the child protection mechanism at the provincial level, coordinating regular meetings between sectors and developing a Child Protection action plan.
- Lead, coordinate, and document the ongoing provincial engagement framework on the LPA and ensure the establishment of provincial and district Child and Family Service councils/committees.
- Coordinate and communicate with the NOCFS to facilitate technical support and information exchange.
- Support the finalization, rollout, and monitoring of the provincial engagement framework.
- Support the transition of the child protection sub-cluster into a permanent coordination structure.
- Participate in National Council for CFS meetings and report to UNICEF.
- Support capacity development of the social service workforce.
Experience Requirements
Experience in child protection system strengthening, implementation and monitoring of child protection policies and legislation, and capacity building of government actors, CSOs, and FBOs at the subnational level.
