Overview
Responsible for leading the overall management, coordination, and reporting of global funding initiatives aimed at strengthening IOM's institutional capacity to respond to humanitarian crises and recovery.
Tasks Summary
- Oversee implementation of global humanitarian capacity building initiatives through monitoring, reporting, and corrective actions
- Coordinate and oversee annual donor budget allocation process within the department
- Support and feed into the overall Department annual budget process
- Maintain/establish partnerships with donor counterparts and UN agencies
- Oversee resource mobilization efforts for institutional capacity building initiatives
- Oversee evaluations
- Provide advice and analysis to senior management on institutional capacity building initiatives
- Identify best practices and lessons learnt
- Promote and facilitate internal information sharing
- Undertake duty travels for project/programme assessment
Experience Requirements
- Five years of relevant professional experience with a Master’s degree, or seven years of relevant professional experience with a University degree
- Experience in IOM emergency programming with strong knowledge of IOM/UN project life cycles
- Strong combination of training and experience in operations
- Working experience in complex environments
- Experience in liaising with government authorities, local communities, national and international institutions
Qualification Requirements
Master’s degree in political or social science, Business Administration, International Relations, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution, or University degree in the above fields
