Support the development of Urban Planning projects and assist in programme/project planning and preparation work.

Tasks Summary

• Gather data, analyse, and contribute to reports and technical documents for Urban Planning projects
• Assist in coordinating programme/project planning and preparation
• Compile, summarise, and present programme/project data
• Support capacity building on planning themes
• Assist in SDG localization in urban planning policy frameworks
• Identify collaboration fields with key actors
• Draft working documents, concept notes, and project presentations
• Contribute to written outputs like background papers and policy notes
• Provide programmatic and technical input to field operations
• Assist in planning, preparing, and implementing events
• Coordinate budget funding activities
• Provide input to publications and collaboration projects
• Contribute to the improvement of the country office work plan

Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualification Requirements

• Enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), OR enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent), OR graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent
• Computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite)
• Demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and commitment to its ideals
• Demonstrated ability to interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs

Other Details

Languages Preferred: Preferred areas of study: International relations, International development, Sustainable development, Political sciences, Eco-management and/or related field; Social science and/or development studies.
