Overview
Supports the UNOCT-led technical assistance project focused on building Member States' capacity to prevent, detect, and investigate terrorist offenses and related travel using Advance Passenger Information (API) and Passenger Name Record (PNR) data. The role involves managing projects, analyzing user requirements, and supporting system development and implementation.
Tasks Summary
- Manages projects involving feasibility studies, systems analysis, design, development, and implementation of new systems.
- Develops detailed system and functional specifications and user documentation.
- Provides specialized advice to users, analyzes requirements, and determines application systems integration issues.
- Supports the goTravel International User Community for continuous improvement and refresh of goTravel features and code base.
- Assists with compiling Business Requirements Document (BRD) and coordinates the Countering Terrorist Travel Programme governance process.
- Coordinates work on defining requirements for integrating Human Rights and data privacy safeguards into the goTravel solution.
- Maintains, upgrades, or enhances existing user systems and provides continuing user support.
- Organizes and performs unit and integrated testing, and assists users in acceptance testing.
- Develops training materials, operating and user manuals, and trains staff in assigned systems.
- Develops disaster recovery plans and ensures appropriate planning and training.
- Researches, analyzes, and evaluates new technologies and makes recommendations for deployment.
- Participates in writing reports and papers on systems-related topics.
- Provides guidance to and may supervise new/junior staff and consultants.
Experience Requirements
- Experience in systems analysis, requirements gathering, and specifications.
- Exposure to all aspects of programming and analysis.
- Proficiency in the development and implementation of systems of moderate size/complexity.
