Overview
The Protection Field Officer contributes to the identification, implementation, and monitoring of ICRC projects, focusing on Protection and Field activities. The role supports other ICRC activities and represents the organization at the local level.
Tasks Summary
- Contributes to the implementation and follow-up of field activities including Restoration of Family Link, Protection of Civilian Population, Assistance, Networking with local stakeholders and authorities, and Communication.
- Monitors the humanitarian environment and needs, assessing security, cultural, and political contexts.
- Collects, compiles, and translates information relevant to projects and contributes to written reporting.
- Provides interpretation services (Amhara-English, English-Amhara).
- Facilitates and contributes to the work of delegates and specialists, including meetings and briefings.
- Maintains, develops, and maps contacts with interlocutors at regional and local levels.
- Participates in field missions, potentially independently.
