Overview
The Psychologist contributes to developing, organizing, implementing, and monitoring Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities in Aljunaina (ALJ) area of responsibility and other ICRC accessible areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Contributes to assessment, design, and development of MHPSS services for people affected by violence at community and health facility levels, including hospitalized weapon-wounded and survivors of sexual violence.
- Supports integration of MHPSS services at community level and into ICRC-supported health facilities.
- Facilitates culturally appropriate MHPSS activities through awareness sessions, individual consultations, and group support sessions.
- Applies culturally/context-appropriate monitoring and evaluation tools in line with the ICRC MHPSS framework.
- Develops detailed MHPSS referral pathways.
Required Experience
- Capacity to oversee programs at community level and in healthcare facilities, including MHPSS services for hospitalized weapon wounded and people with physical disabilities.
- Provides capacity building of MHPSS practitioners and healthcare workers, by training and coaching them to offer direct support to people affected by armed conflict, other situations of violence and emergencies, ensuring the continuum of care.
