The Economic Affairs Intern will assist in research and analysis related to Least Developed Countries (LDCs) graduation, impacts, and vulnerabilities within the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The role involves supporting research, statistical analysis, and policy formulation.
No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Previous research/volunteer experience on sustainable development issues or on least developed countries would be an advantage.
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). The university degree must be in the area of economics, development studies or any related area.
Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English is required for this internship.
Languages Preferred: Working knowledge of French is an advantage.
Contract Duration: Initial period of three months, with an opportunity for extension up to six months.
Work Modality: Geneva in-person or remote internships
Remuneration: The Internship Programme is unpaid. All costs of travel, accommodation, medical insurance and living expenses must be covered by the intern.
