Overview

The Technical Assistant will support the implementation of the Programme’s work plan and daily activities, reporting to the Head of Brazil Office.

Tasks Summary

• Provide support and orientation to the Programme’s families and individuals selected for monitoring.
• Provide support and orientation during household visitations.
• Access information about families and individuals and refer them to appropriate public agencies.
• Research complementary information and forward it to appropriate public agencies.
• Work in partnership with civil servants in several municipal secretariats.
• Provide input for the identification and mitigation of bottlenecks.
• Maintain professional and cordial relations with counterparts.
• Disseminate updated information about the Programme.
• Ensure that the Programme's technical activities are aligned with quality expectations.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum four (4) years of experience in assisting families in situations of social vulnerability is required.
• Knowledge of the National Social Assistance Policy is required.
• Experience with the Programme’s target communities is required.
• Previous experience working in the United Nations is desirable.
• Good handling of technological tools is required.
• Good computer skills in Windows, such as Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel, is desirable.

Qualification Requirements

• High School Diploma is required, or additional two (2) years of relevant experience to the post, beyond the requirement.
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related fields is desirable.

Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluency in Portuguese is required.

Languages Preferred: • Working knowledge of any other working language of the United Nations is desirable.

Contract Duration: Three (3) months, with possibility of renewal

Remuneration: SB-2/4 UNDP Brazil Salary Scale
