The Programme Coordinator will act as the Head of the UNODC Programme Office in Guinea Bissau and support the implementation of UNODC programmes and activities in lusophone countries.
A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible professional work experience in project or programme management relating to the control and prevention of drugs, crime, corruption and/or terrorism, in an international setting, is required. Work experience in managing or coordinating office operations is required. Work experience in promoting UN partnerships, in particular in the context of the UN reform, is desirable. Work experience in programme planning, monitoring and reporting is desirable. Work experience in engaging and building partnerships with Government counterparts is desirable. Work experience within the United Nations system or similar international organization is desirable. Work experience with counterparts in West Africa is desirable. Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in political or social sciences, public or business administration, economics, law, international relations or similar academic background is required. A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Languages Required: English and Portuguese are required.
Languages Preferred: French is desirable.
