Overview
The Economist will primarily work on North Macedonia, participating in and leading core integrative Economic Policy tasks. The role involves contributing to policy dialogue, analytical products, and macroeconomic monitoring.
Tasks Summary
- Lead and contribute to policy dialogue with authorities in North Macedonia, including development policy financing.
- Contribute to analytical and advisory products on macroeconomic and structural reforms.
- Lead country-specific macroeconomic monitoring and provide inputs for corporate briefs.
- Participate in lending and analytical/advisory activities for other countries as needed.
- Engage in policy dialogue with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work with other Global Practices on strategic and integrative pieces.
Experience Requirements
- Five years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong technical skills on macroeconomic and growth issues.
- Proven track record in delivering high quality analytical work, with focus on fiscal policy.
- Advanced technical skills in economic modelling and data analysis.
- Operational and policy dialogue skills.
- Integrative skills.
- Proven sense of initiative, results orientation, and teamwork qualities.
- Ability to work effectively across sectors.
- Ability to work flexibly on a range of assignments and adjust to complex tasks.
- High energy and demonstrated interest in achieving impact.
- Previous experience in delivering high impact work in a country under economic transformation would be a plus.
Qualification Requirements
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in Economics.
- A completed PhD is treated as equivalent to 3 years of relevant professional experience.
