Internship opportunity supporting work on disability inclusion within the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Section of the Social Development Division.
No working experience is required. Experience in the following would be an asset: academic background in subjects related to disability; good research and writing skills; skill sets related to the design and implementation of communication materials and social media campaigns; organizing or supporting meetings, with prior knowledge or experience providing accessibility support to meetings/events that involve persons with disabilities strongly preferred; knowledge of disability inclusion; familiarity with assistive technologies or accessibility tools.
Applicants must, at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). Interns must also be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
Languages Required: Fluency in English is required.
Languages Preferred: Knowledge of a national language from the Asia-Pacific region is considered an asset.
Contract Duration: 3-6 months
Work Modality: onsite or remotely
Remuneration: The internship is unpaid. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
