Medicos del Mundo Mtskheta-Mtianeti Regional Hub Volunteer opportunity: Fundraising and Youth Work Volunteer with Mtskheta-mtianeti regional hub (Georgia)

Tasks Summary
  • MMRH in Georgia focuses on peacebuilding and conflict resolution in the South Ossetia region. It collaborates with international and local NGOs to promote dialogue and confidence-building for internally displaced persons. The organisation supports local youth initiatives, strengthens civil society in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, and works with Ukrainian refugees. Our projects are designed to address the problems of internally displaced persons and refugees in Georgia and focus on empowering women and youth. The volunteer will contribute to the empowerment of vulnerable groups through technology and have the following tasks: Fundraising, strategic planning, youth work, adult education, social media management. The volunteer will be provided with: Relevant office equipment and necessary facilities, Interesting working environment and flexible schedule, Line coordinator and regular meetings, Safe and decent living conditions and logistic support. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements MMRH is located at Tserovani IDP Settlement, is a special village built for Georgian IDPs. Basic services are accessible easily (water, electricity, gas is centralised). The speed of internet and connection is stable. The volunteer will regularly receive information, guidance, support, and wherever appropriate, means necessary for performing the functions assigned to them. The volunteer will receive a monthly allowance of 500 € to cover their food and other expenses. Accommodation, return flights, visa and vaccination costs, basic equipment (laptop and mobile phone) will be provided. Training during the activity Learning opportunities:

  • making a positive impact on the community Participant profile Required competences: - Written and communication skills; - Details and deadlines oriented; - Collaboration and teamwork; - Able to work independently and work as part of a team; - Genuinely motivated to contribute; - A willingness to learn; - Respect and diligence. Minimum requirements: - Fluent in English; - Autonomy, flexibility and adaptation; - Willingness to accept the local context; - Motivation to work. Eligibility : Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
