ECOCOMPARTIMOS Le Quai Culturel Volunteer opportunity: Thousand and one mosaics for inclusion 2026
LE QUAI CULTUREL, founded in 2016, has as its main objective to create a positive change in the lives of people with disabilities, offering them opportunities for socialisation and social inclusion. The development of solidarity, tolerance and mutual understanding are its goals. The team has professionals willing to share their experience with volunteers in order to work as a team, develop organisational skills, conflict resolution and connection, sharing different points of view. In addition, volunteers will be trained in the mosaic technique so that they can use this technique to promote creativity in their groups. The volunteer will support the educational staff inside and outside the centre: - In daily work with young people with disabilities - Accompanying them to the day centre or on scheduled outings - Supervising them in common areas - Organising artistic-creative workshops - Organising language workshops Accommodation, food and transport arrangements The 2 selected volunteers will live in the Ben Arous Youth Sports and Cultural Centre, in single rooms and a shared bathroom and kitchen or in an apartment with other volunteers. They will also receive pocket money and money for meals. Health insurance will be with HENNER. International transport will be covered within the limits described in the guide This volunteering opportunity is for 6 months. Training during the activity Before departure, participants will receive pre-departure training to prepare them for their experience. Upon arrival in Tunis, they will be trained in mosaic techniques and Tunisian lenguaje for one month. At the same time, they will receive training to be able to carry out the assigned tasks and will be continuously monitored by the coordinator or tutor. The on arrival training and the mid-term evaluation will be carried out by SALTO. Ecocompartimos will be responsible for the final evaluation. Participant profile Buscamos dos personas para incorporación inmediata, preferiblemente desde finales de abril, de mente abierta, flexibles para adaptarse a posibles cambios, motivadas para interactuar con la gente local y que quiera vivir una experiencia cultural profunda en Túnez. Deben estar disponibles para al menos 2 meses empezando en a final de abril. A las personas candidatas, les debe interesar el arte y trabajar con personas con discapacidad y con grupos en riesgo de exclusión social. Por ese motivo buscamos personas comunicativas y sociables pero a la vez pacientes. Amables, educadas, tolerantes, capaces de escuchar activamente y dispuestas a trabajar en equipo y en comunidad con actitud positiva. We are looking for two open-minded volunteers, flexibles to adapt to possible changes, motivated to interact with local people and who want to live a deep cultural experience in Tunisia. The applicant must be available since the end of April at leas for 2 months. The candidates should be interested in art, inclusion of disability people and working with social risks exclusion groups. For this reason we are looking for someone communicative and sociable but at the same time patient. Kind, polite, tolerant, able to listen actively and willing to work in a team and in a community with a positive attitude.
