Overview

The internship is based in the UNEP Communication Division to support communications activities related to key initiatives of the Division.

Tasks Summary

• Assist in the development of a wide range of communication materials.
• Support coordination within the Division and across other departments.
• Support the management of partnerships.
• Support outreach activities for public advocacy campaigns.
• Assist in the organization and logistical coordination of meetings and events.
• Support the drafting of wrap-up reports, briefings, and day-to-day communications.
• Provide administrative, project management, and information management support.
• Carry out other duties on an as-needed basis.

Experience Requirements

No working experience is required. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualification Requirements

• Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
• Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Preferred areas of studies: Communication, International affairs, or environment-related field preferred.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Contract Duration: 6 MONTHS

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
