Overview

The Programme Analyst supports the overall management of UNDP’s governance programme, including quality assurance of ongoing and future projects. The role facilitates knowledge-sharing and synergies between project teams and contributes to the design of new governance projects.

Tasks Summary
  • Support programmatic oversight, quality assurance, risk management, monitoring and evaluation, and internal reporting.
  • Support the formulation, implementation and management of UNDP’s new country programme and governance projects.
  • Coordinate and ensure the preparation of high-quality project reports.
  • Provide backstopping to projects by drafting terms of reference, coordinating or implementing actions, or work-planning.
  • Initiate, lead or contribute to thematic working groups.
  • Facilitate discussions and joint work between project teams on cross-cutting issues.
  • Prepare briefs and analytical notes on projects or project-related topics.
  • Prepare inputs for UN coordination group meetings and ensure follow-up.
  • Collaborate with other UN entities in joint planning and implementation of initiatives.
  • Research, propose and support the implementation of a knowledge management strategy.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of two (2) years (with master’s degree) or four (4) years (with bachelor’s degree) of paid working experience in the field of Rule of Law and/or governance.
  • Experience in programme and/or project management desired.
  • Digital/AI literacy required; previous experience working on AI initiatives is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in the use of office productivity software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases) is desired.
  • Experience working in government or international development is an advantage.
  • Work experience especially in the Arab States region or Africa is an advantage.
  • Work experience within the UN system should not exceed 1 year.
Qualification Requirements
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Political Science, International Relations, Public Administration, Law or an equivalent field.
  • In exceptional cases candidates with a Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 4 years relevant working experience can be considered.
Other Details

Languages Required: English and French

Languages Preferred: Any other UN language is always an asset

Contract Duration: 1 Year with Possibility for extension
