Overview
Support the implementation of the pilot half-day pre-primary education programme by building capacity, coordinating material development, and adapting monitoring tools.
Tasks Summary
- Build capacity of the Ministry of Education Working Group members responsible for development of teaching and methodological materials for the early childhood education system of Turkmenistan;
- Coordinate the work of the WG and ensure the timely development of curriculum, guidance for teachers and workbooks for children to pilot half-day pre-primary preparation programme;
- Adapt and/or develop monitoring and quality assurance tools and conduct workshops for education inspectors, school administrators and early childhood education specialists;
- Organization of capacity building training for participating teachers;
- Strengthen the national capacity for providing supervision support to kindergarten teachers.
Experience Requirements
- At least 10 years of work experience in the education system of Turkmenistan
- At least 5 years of cumulative work experience as a specialist and/or teacher at public kindergartens and primary schools of Turkmenistan
- Proven knowledge of national early childhood education policies, standards of preschool education of Turkmenistan, and national ECD priorities
- Proven knowledge of international best practices in early childhood education and ECD
Qualification Requirements
- A university degree in education, social science or other relevant fields is required
- Proof of professional development in early childhood education, early childhood development, curriculum development
