Overview
The Programme Policy Officer will strengthen programme implementation and coordination during the final phase of the Country Strategic Plan (CSP), supporting its closure and transition, and contributing to the scale-up of the national school feeding programme.
Tasks Summary
- Oversee programme implementation to ensure compliance with WFP standards, corporate programme policies, and operational procedures.
- Support the development, refinement, and application of programme processes, SOPs, and tools.
- Coordinate and provide day to day support to the Programme team.
- Support joint planning, coordination, and monitoring across programme, supply chain, finance, RAM, and field offices.
- Support the technical and operational processes required for the orderly closure of the current Country Strategic Plan (CSP).
- Strengthen the capacity of WFP staff, cooperating partners, and government institutions for the scale up of the national Home Grown School Feeding (HGSF) programme.
- Provide project management and coordination support for the HGSF scale up.
- Oversee data collection, monitoring, and reporting systems.
- Contribute to the preparation of accurate, timely programme reports, technical briefs, and donor inputs.
- Provide technical advice and staff support, including development of functional training, and serve as Acting Deputy Country Director / Head of Programme during periods of absence.
Experience Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in programme implementation
- Technical expertise gained through collaboration with specialized technical teams.
- Proven experience in strategic planning and programme cycle management.
- Experience contributing to strategic discussions and decision-making processes.
- A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience is required, including work in the development and/or humanitarian sector.
- Experience in the project cycle, implementation, monitoring, and engagement with governmental counterparts, international institutions, and cooperating partners.
- Proficiency in computer literacy is also essential.
Qualification Requirements
- Advanced university degree or Master’s level in Economics, Agriculture, Sociology, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development.
- A first university degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.
