Overview

The intern will support the laboratory team in implementing projects and initiatives, particularly those related to the development of strategic knowledge-mapping tools. The role involves monitoring the Knowledge Management Strategy, supporting the Foresight, Innovation and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, and updating the knowledge-mapping process.

Tasks Summary

• Documenting the follow-up of the implementation of the Knowledge Management Strategy.
• Supporting the preparation of meeting minutes and tasks related to the organizational structure of the Laboratory.
• Assisting in the review, documentation, and testing of data-based knowledge-mapping tools.
• Maintaining databases up to date.
• Reviewing and cleaning (when applicable) tool-related code using Python.
• Supporting testing activities for data capture, preparation, updating, and visualization.
• Assisting in experimentation with data science and artificial intelligence tools.

Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualification Requirements

• Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
• Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
• Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Contract Duration: 2-6 months

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
