Overview

The Radiation Oncologist will coordinate and support research, provide technical and advisory services, and collect, analyse and disseminate information related to radiation therapy for cancer treatment. The role aims to upgrade radiotherapy capabilities and research in developing countries to improve cancer cure rates.

Tasks Summary
  • Develop and implement coordinated research projects related to radiation therapy.
  • Plan and organize scientific and advisory meetings.
  • Develop and implement activities to upgrade radiotherapy capabilities in developing countries.
  • Support the technical cooperation programme.
  • Coordinate work with other national and international organizations.
  • Prepare reports, proceedings and scientific publications.
  • Represent the IAEA at international meetings and conferences.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of seven years of recent scientific experience in radiation therapy working in a cancer hospital and/or teaching institution.
  • Experience in clinical research as evidenced by recent publications in the field of specialization.
  • Clinical and administrative experience.
  • Good national and international standing in the area of specialization and association with international societies.
  • Experience in international project management and coordination.
Qualification Requirements
  • Advanced Medical degree with specialisation in Radiation Oncology or Clinical Oncology.
  • PhD would be an asset.
Other Details

Languages Required: • Excellent oral and written command of English.

Languages Preferred: • Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.

Contract Duration: 12 months

Work Modality:

Remuneration: • Tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $84672 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance). • Variable post adjustment which currently amounts to US $ 33869*. • Dependency benefits. • Rental subsidy. • Education grant. • Relocation and repatriation expenses. • 6 weeks' annual leave. • Home leave travel. • Pension plan and health insurance.
