Overview

The Programme Management intern will support the organizational culture that ensures inclusion, innovation and effectiveness through the "Building Our Pillar" programme. The intern will report to the Senior Programme Management Officer.

Tasks Summary
  • Assisting with the preparation of the weekly newsletter and other communications;
  • Implementing activities in accordance with the Building Our Pillar action plan on staff engagement;
  • Collecting, analyzing and visualizing quantitative and qualitative information;
  • Updating online information related to staff engagement activities;
  • Supporting change management initiatives;
  • Coordinating and assisting with specific events;
  • Other ad hoc duties as required.
Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualification Requirements
  • be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
  • be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams. Ability to design surveys and polls is desirable.
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Contract Duration: This internship is for a minimum 3 and maximum of 6 months.

Work Modality: Flexible (Hybrid, all remote, or in-person) The intern will work in a hybrid arrangement in New York, United States, or remotely.

Remuneration: The internship is UNPAID. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
