Overview

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) seeks an Intern for Programme Management Support to assist in the delivery of project activities and reporting for a project focused on the implementation of the New Urban Agenda in Spain and Latin America and the Caribbean.

Tasks Summary
  • Support the implementation and follow up on technical activities linked to ongoing projects.
  • Supports the organization of Experts Groups Meeting and related seminars.
  • In collaboration with the Communications focal point, supports in the development of content, layout and design of relevant communication material, documents and events.
  • Supports local logistics during events, workshops and seminars and virtual logistics in case of webinars.
  • Assists in the preparation and review of activities reports, documents and proposals.
  • Assists in the translation of documents, reports, brochures and project proposals.
  • Assists in the preparation of presentations, brochures and talking points for events.
  • Undertakes research as required regarding the different topics addressed in the ongoing projects.
  • Supports the development and follow up on agreements with key institutional partners.
  • Participates in team coordination meetings, as well as any other meeting as required.
  • Assists in the activities that support the ongoing work of UN-Habitat Country Office Spain.
  • Other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants must at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements: a. Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), b. Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent), c. Have graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent. Be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite). Have demonstrated a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter. Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs. Preferred areas of study: Studies in architecture, urbanism, social sciences, international relations or related fields are required. Graphic design skills are required for this position. Writing skills are required for this position.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in oral and written Spanish and English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another UN language is desirable.

Contract Duration: 6 months

Work Modality: In-person

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
