Overview

The Enterprise Automation Expert will act as the primary technical authority for UNIDO’s UiPath-based RPA platform, focusing on its operation, development, and the establishment of governance standards.

Tasks Summary
  • Act as the primary technical authority and advisory reference for UNIDO’s UiPath-based RPA platform.
  • Support stable, secure, and reliable platform operation, including incident resolution, troubleshooting, and performance improvements.
  • Design, review, and advise on automation solutions using appropriate approaches.
  • Assess when RPA is appropriate versus alternative automation or workflow solutions.
  • Design and operationalize pragmatic and lightweight RPA governance standards and technical guidelines.
  • Perform automation-focused process analysis.
  • Provide hands-on support for complex or high-risk automations and production issues.
  • Coach junior colleagues and contribute to internal knowledge transfer and capacity building.
  • Maintain visibility over existing and planned automations.
  • Liaise with UiPath vendor support and external service providers.
  • Document key technical decisions, standards, and implementation approaches.
Experience Requirements
  • At least five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in enterprise automation or RPA, including design, delivery, and operation of production-grade automations.
  • Strong hands-on experience with UiPath, including UiPath Studio, UiPath Orchestrator administration, and unattended automation in enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience designing automations using UI-based and non-UI-based approaches.
  • Solid understanding of automation lifecycle management.
  • Experience addressing security and operational considerations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in environments with limited existing automation capacity or documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders and business units.
Qualification Requirements
  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is desirable.
  • Alternatively, a first level university degree may be acceptable provided it is combined with additional 5 years of professional hand-on experience that is directly relevant to the expertise required by the specific assignment.

Languages Required: Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

Languages Preferred: Fluency and/or working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is an asset.
