Overview
Provides professional technical, operational, and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for child protection programmes/projects. Supports the development and formulation of the Child Protection Programme within the Country Programme.
Tasks Summary
- Provide technical and operational support to child protection programme implementation.
- Manage and document cases, ensuring appropriate follow-up.
- Coordinate and assist in connecting individuals with specialized mental health services.
- Conduct awareness-raising sessions on mental health and psychosocial well-being.
- Collaborate in the formulation and refinement of child protection strategies.
- Report emerging protection issues and concerns.
- Involve community leaders and caregivers in MHPSS programming.
- Provide training to relevant staff on child protection issues and protocols.
Experience Requirements
- 6 years of relevant experience.
- Previous work experience relevant to the function of child protection in a local context.
- Experience in child protection prevention and response, broader protection, or social work involving the empowerment of women and girls, gender, child protection, mental health, counseling and working with survivors, humanitarian and development issues is required.
- Skills and experience in interviewing and working with children and families including supervision of child protection case management will be an advantage.
Qualification Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent with 6 years of relevant working experience.
- A bachelor’s degree in Human science; Public Health; Social Work, Psychology or other relevant field; from a recognized academic institution is a strong asset and may substitute for 4 years of the required years of experience.
