Overview

The intern will support standardized data collection, analysis, and visualization within the global Federation-wide Data Systems team. The role involves collaborating with colleagues to enhance data accuracy in various data collection processes.

Tasks Summary
  • Engage with regional and NS colleagues to improve the quality and coverage of Federation-wide data collection.
  • Provide guidance on key performance indicator definitions and data collection standards.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and data validation processes.
  • Liaise with colleagues to validate National Society data and information.
  • Monitor and action queries from the fdrs@ifrc.org email account.
  • Respond to Federation-wide data-related queries.
  • Design and maintain data management systems and data pipelines.
  • Propose and prepare regular analysis reports based on Federation-wide and secondary datasets.
  • Support the development of the Everyone Counts report, including data analysis, visualization, content solicitation, drafting, editing, and layout.
Experience Requirements
  • Proven experience with Power BI, including data visualization, data modeling, creating dashboards, and managing data pipelines.
  • Previous experience in data extraction via the use of APIs.
  • Preferred experience using Python, DAX, R, or Stata (scripting, analysis, and/or development) and collaborative platform (GitHub, Gitlab).
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Familiarity with the Red Cross and Red Crescent network and/or international humanitarian and development work.
Qualification Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a university or equivalent level, or recently graduated (normally within 1 year from the date of hiring) in an area compatible with IFRC activities.
  • An advanced university degree in applied data science, information management, business analytics, econometrics, or statistics.
Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluently spoken and written English.

Languages Preferred: • Good command of spoken and written French. • Good command of another IFRC official language (Spanish or Arabic).
