Overview

The HVAC Technician monitors, maintains, and repairs cooling, heating, and ventilation plants, devices, and installations in the IAEA Laboratories in Seibersdorf, ensuring problem-free functioning of technical systems.

Tasks Summary
  • Install, maintain, repair and test HVAC systems and water-conditioning systems.
  • Monitor the functioning of major air-conditioning water-chillers, associated equipment, technical refrigerators, freezers, freeze-dryers, cold chambers, and cooled devices.
  • Check equipment and systems for fault location and repair mechanical components.
  • Set-up test procedures for verification of equipment system conditions and performances.
  • Provide technical support and ensure maintenance and repair work is carried out as per specifications.
  • Participate in preventative maintenance activities and coordinate with sub-contractors.
  • Assist in the upgrading of existing HVAC infrastructure.
  • Participate in the laboratory maintenance on-call scheme.
  • Assist others outside area of specialization if needed.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of four years of relevant working experience.
  • Extensive experience monitoring and repairing HVAC systems with good working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics systems, and welding.
Qualification Requirements
  • Completed secondary education.
  • Completed apprenticeship and vocational schooling in HVAC systems, mechanical, or equivalent.
  • Specialization in heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems.
  • Facharbeiterpruefung (Gesellpruefung) in the relevant technical field.
Other Details

Languages Required: Excellent oral and written command of English and German.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.

Contract Duration: 36 months

Work Modality:

Remuneration: Tax-free annual net base salary starting at EUR 50032 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), 6 weeks' annual vacation, pension plan and health insurance.
