Heating-Ventilation-Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician(G4)

Overview

The HVAC Technician monitors, maintains, and repairs cooling, heating, and ventilation plants, devices, and installations in the IAEA Laboratories in Seibersdorf, ensuring problem-free functioning of technical systems.

Tasks Summary

Install, maintain, repair and test HVAC systems and water-conditioning systems.
Monitor the functioning of major air-conditioning water-chillers, associated equipment, technical refrigerators, freezers, freeze-dryers, cold chambers, and cooled devices.
Check equipment and systems for fault location and repair mechanical components.
Set-up test procedures for verification of equipment system conditions and performances.
Provide technical support and ensure maintenance and repair work is carried out as per specifications.
Participate in preventative maintenance activities and coordinate with sub-contractors.
Assist in the upgrading of existing HVAC infrastructure.
Participate in the laboratory maintenance on-call scheme.
Assist others outside area of specialization if needed.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of four years of relevant working experience.
Extensive experience monitoring and repairing HVAC systems with good working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics systems, and welding.

Qualification Requirements

Completed secondary education.
Completed apprenticeship and vocational schooling in HVAC systems, mechanical, or equivalent.
Specialization in heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems.
Facharbeiterpruefung (Gesellpruefung) in the relevant technical field.

Other Details

Languages Required: Excellent oral and written command of English and German.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.

Contract Duration: 36 months

Work Modality:

Remuneration: Tax-free annual net base salary starting at EUR 50032 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), 6 weeks' annual vacation, pension plan and health insurance.
