Overview

The internship supports the Livelihood and Economic Inclusion Unit in strengthening the first line of defense in the Country Office, aiming to enhance economic inclusion and improve self-reliance for Persons of Concern and host community members.

Tasks Summary
  • Support knowledge-management by building a repository of good practices, case studies and resources to be disseminated, develop/ promote communication materials, follow communication platforms, including social media;
  • Support coordination of the Unit's work by providing logistical support for events, meetings, and trainings, taking minutes of meetings, tracking important action items to ensure completion, and tracking engagement with partners;
  • Support in building and maintaining effective professional relationships with partners and stakeholders;
  • Provide support in writing reports, monthly internal updates of the team, fact sheets and PowerPoint presentations;
  • Translate reports and/or documents;
  • Assist with various daily tasks;
  • Perform any other tasks as needed;
Experience Requirements
  • Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant or of interest to the work of UNHCR.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management;
  • Experience working with humanitarian and/or development actors;
  • Knowledge/experience working in the area of economic inclusion and livelihoods;
  • Experience using SharePoint or similar knowledge/document management systems is an asset;
  • Experience using Mailchimp or similar email marketing/communication tools is an asset;
  • Work experience in research institutes and/or development agencies is desirable;
  • Experience in working on refugees/displaced populations is desirable;
Qualification Requirements

• Be a recent graduate (having completed their studies within two years of applying) or a current student in a graduate/undergraduate school programme from a university or higher education facility accredited by IAU/UNESCO;

Other Details

Languages Required: • Have good written and verbal skills in English and Polish (both at least B2 level or above);

Languages Preferred:

Contract Duration: 6 months, with a possibility of extension up to a cumulative duration of 8 months.

Work Modality: REMOTE

Remuneration: Interns who do not receive financial support from an outside party will receive an allowance to partially help to cover the cost of food, local transportation and living expenses. UNHCR reimburse interns engaged from a location outside of the country of the duty station for the ticket costs of their outward and return travel to/from the duty station by the most economical route available on economy class, irrespective of the duration of the journey.
