Overview

Plans and directs major systems projects, provides expert advice on systems analysis and design, and develops cost proposals for contractual services.

Tasks Summary
  • Plans and directs major systems projects.
  • Provides expert advice on complex systems analysis and design.
  • Develops plans for feasibility assessment, requirements specification, design, development and implementation.
  • Develops cost proposals for contractual services.
  • Tracks and monitors project progress against plan.
  • Provides professional leadership and work direction to assigned project team.
  • Is actively involved in the execution of the most complex aspects of the project.
  • Develops, implements and monitors information standards and guidelines.
  • Prepares technical and user documentation.
  • Prepares training materials and detailed technical presentations.
  • Keeps abreast of developments in the field and determines the need for testing and evaluating new products and technologies.
  • Collects and analyzes data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights.
Experience Requirements

A minimum of nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in planning, design, development, implementation and maintenance of computer information systems or related area is required. The years of experience are reduced to 7 with a second level university degree (masters or higher). Two (2) years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable. Experience working in an automated customs environment is desirable. Experience in supporting United Nations or similar international organization technical cooperation programmes is desirable.

Qualification Requirements

A first level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics or related field is required. Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.
