The Senior Conduct and Discipline Officer advises the Head of Mission on all matters related to conduct and discipline, including prevention, accountability, and victim assistance. The role manages operational activities, oversees FCDT activities, and coordinates with UNCT partners.
A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience in the field of policy, conduct and discipline, human resources, law, personnel dispute resolution processes or management is required. Experience in information analysis and problem solving in administration, human rights or legal contexts is required. Experience in the United Nations System and/or field experience with a UN peacekeeping operation including dealing with UN rules and procedures on conduct and discipline and sound knowledge of the challenges of peacekeeping particularly in conflict and post-conflict environments is desirable. Proven track record of excellent management and technical skills is desirable.
An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in law, social sciences, human rights, public administration, human resources management or related area is required. A first-level university degree in combination with 2 additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Languages Required: English is required.
Languages Preferred: French and Spanish are desirable.
