Overview
Provides information and processes pension entitlements and benefits for participants, retirees, and beneficiaries. Ensures accurate servicing in accordance with Fund regulations and rules.
Tasks Summary
- - Provides information on participation, entitlements, and benefits to individuals and administrative staff.
- - Routes relevant requests to appropriate parties.
- - Undertakes research to provide accurate information and ensures responses conform to Fund provisions.
- - Processes all types of retirement benefits within established benchmarks.
- - Initiates administrative procedures or calculates benefits for changes in residence, etc.
- - Advises relevant units on the status of retirees and beneficiaries.
- - Initiates termination of benefits.
- - Prepares manual benefit calculations and recommendations for complex cases.
- - Audits all types of pension benefits, administrative actions, and procedures.
- - Audits/prepares estimates of future benefit options and all types of pension benefits.
- - Participates in the standardization of procedures and texts for communications.
- - Participates in training activities and projects related to the Section’s work.
- - Performs other duties as may be required.
- - Prepares and processes work and related follow-up accurately and timely.
- - Addresses unforeseen situations, seeking advice from or reporting to supervisor.
- - Advises participants on health and life insurance schemes and pension rules.
- - Drafts correspondence to relevant offices and instructs insurance carriers regarding benefit payments.
- - Performs insurance/pension functions regarding payment of benefits.
- - Ensures completeness and accuracy of data for MIP hardship claims and Fund enrolment.
- - Determines eligibility for health and life insurance programs.
- - Audits amounts of UNJSPF benefits payable and recalculations of existing benefits.
Experience Requirements
A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in employee benefits administration or related area is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to five (5) for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Two (2) years of relevant experience in the United Nations common system is desirable. At least two (2) years of experience in ERP system - IPAS is desirable. Experience in reviewing, analyzing and presenting data using MS Excel and MS Office are desirable. Experience in an employee benefit scheme related to pension administration is desirable. One (1) year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
