Overview

Provides technical support for the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of social policy programming with a focus on advancing Family Friendly Policies. Contributes to improving public policies, social protection, child-focused public investments, and governance measures.

Tasks Summary

• Improves data on child poverty and vulnerability for policy and programmatic action.
• Strengthens social protection and family friendly policies coverage and impact for children.
• Improves the use of public financial resources for children.
• Strengthens the capacity of local governments to plan, budget, consult on and monitor child-focused care services and family friendly policies.
• Strengthens advocacy and partnerships for child-sensitive social policy.
• Manages and coordinates technical support around family friendly policies.

Experience Requirements

• A minimum of five years of relevant professional work experience is required.
• Experience working on evidence generation, programming or implementation of family friendly policies or the care economy in Malaysia.

Qualification Requirements

• An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: Economics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science, or another relevant technical field.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English and local language Bahasa Malaysia is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another UN official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is considered as an asset.
