Tasks Summary

• Conduct structured desk research to map relevant startups and entrepreneurial ventures across energy, climate, and environmental domains.
• Capture standardized attributes such as country or region, sector, founding year, AI method or technology, customer segments, and funding or partnerships.
• Identify ventures focused on reducing the energy use and carbon emissions of AI systems.
• Note key barriers such as financing gaps, infrastructure limitations, and skills deficits that constrain the growth of green AI entrepreneurship in the Global South.
• Deliver a completed spreadsheet according to the mapping methodology with all materials compiled for each identified startup within the designated countries.

Experience Requirements

• Strong interest in AI, climate, and sustainable development.
• Experience in research or data collection on technology or clean innovation.
• Familiarity with startup ecosystems and online research tools.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently.
• Strong analytical and writing skills, with accuracy in documentation and citations.
• Background in environmental science, data science, or international development an asset.
• Reliable and responsive in remote collaboration.
