Overview

The consultant will identify and analyze national data sources to develop a pilot list of core gender-sensitive climate change indicators.

Tasks Summary

• Map and analyze data sources on climate change and gender at the national level, including censuses, statistical surveys, administrative records, geospatial data, monitoring systems, scientific research, citizen-generated data, and Big data.
• Assess the quality, reliability, and consistency of available data, as well as the frequency of their collection and the level of disaggregation.
• Collaborate closely with the national focal point in the National Institute of Statistics of Cameroon and relevant ministries, agencies, NGOs, and experts.

Experience Requirements

• At least 2 years of technical experience working in the processing, analysis, and management of national statistics and data.
• Experience in environment, climate change, disaster-related, or gender statistics.
• Experience in collaborating with the National Institute of Statistics of Cameroon or other public institutions on data collection/reporting is desirable.

Qualification Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, demography, sociology, environmental science, data science, information science, or gender studies is required.
• A master’s degree in a related field is highly desirable.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in both English and French (oral and written) is required.
