Overview

The consultant will identify and analyze existing national data sources to develop a pilot list of core gender-sensitive climate change indicators.

Tasks Summary

• Conduct mapping and analysis of data sources on climate change and gender at the national level, including censuses, statistical surveys, administrative records, geospatial data, monitoring systems, scientific research, citizen-generated data and Big data.
• Collaborate closely with the national focal point in the Tanzania National Bureau of Statistics and relevant ministries or agencies, NGOs working on gender issues, and experts in the RCO.

Experience Requirements

• At least 2 years of technical experience working with national statistics and data is required.
• Experience in environment, climate change, disaster-related or gender statistics is required.
• Experience working with national statistical offices on data collection/reporting is desirable.

Qualification Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, sociology, environmental science, data science, information science, gender studies or another related field is required. A master’s degree in the related field is highly desirable.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Fluency in Kiswahili (both oral and written) is required.
