Overview

The Risk and Compliance Manager is responsible for leading the Country Office's efforts to effectively manage risks, promote a risk management culture, and ensure compliance within high-risk areas and with regulations.

Tasks Summary
  • Leading the CO's efforts to effectively manage risks.
  • Promoting a risk management culture.
  • Ensuring the CO’s compliance within high-risk areas and with regulations not specific to a given function.
  • Responding to any issues or questions that arise relating to the CO’s work on PSEA, DPR, legal, Code of Conduct and complaints management.
  • Ensuring that risks in the CO’s operations are identified, assessed and controlled effectively.
  • Ensuring that risk management and compliance related CO registers and Standards Operating Procedures (SOPs) Register are complete and up to date.
  • Advising and supporting in-country function leaders in implementing compliance improvement measures.
  • Ensuring that SOPs in the CO are aligned with policies and regulations.
  • Ensuring that mechanisms to report, process and respond to complaints on staff behaviour from internal stakeholders are in place.
  • Providing advice, training and support to CO staff on areas of expertise held by the R&C function at HO.
  • Contributing to the development of NRC’s Risk Management framework by reporting and documenting lessons learned and best practices.
  • Management of staff and resources of the R&C function at CO.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience from working as a manager in compliance, auditing or risk management functions or from working as senior manager in the humanitarian sector.
  • Strong experience and technical expertise in Risk and Compliance management from the humanitarian sector.
  • Experience from fluid and complex contexts.
  • Knowledge and experience support or working with partners.
  • Knowledge of the Ukrainian context as well as the country’s regulatory procedures.

Languages Required: Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Languages Preferred: Fluency in Ukrainian language is desirable.

Contract Duration: 12 months
