Overview

The intern will support the implementation of UNEP FI’s work programme related to its Pollution and Circular Economy workstream, contributing to initiatives focused on pollution and circular economy within the financial sector.

Tasks Summary
  • Support internal work on pollution and circular economy.
  • Support the development of support, guidance materials, case studies, and capacity building programs.
  • Support the work of the Circular Economy Working Group and the establishment of a Circular Economy Community of Practice.
  • Support the work of the Pollution Working Group and the Finance Leadership Group on Plastics.
  • Carry out research on pollution, circular economy, and finance-related themes.
  • Collate information on pollution and circular economy from various sources.
  • Assist with day-to-day coordination of communications with working groups and other interest groups.
  • Provide project coordination, administrative, and communications support.
Experience Requirements

Relevant experience and final year undergraduate or master’s degree studies or recently graduated in finance, economics, sustainable development, environmental studies, international relations/affairs or other related themes. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); OR enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); OR have graduated with a university degree and commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in oral and written English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of French and Spanish is desirable.

Contract Duration: 6 months

Work Modality: Geneva, Switzerland / remote

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
