The intern will support the review of progress in the implementation of the long-term strategic framework for capacity-building and development.
Experience in undertaking research and collecting and analyzing qualitative information is required. Experience with basic data analysis and synthesis methods, including the ability to identify trends, patterns, and gaps across datasets is required. Experience in translating complex information into well-structured findings, insights, and preliminary conclusions is required. Knowledge of, or strong interest in, capacity-building and development, biodiversity-related policy processes, and multilateral environmental agreements is desirable.
Applicants to the United Nations internship programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor 's level or equivalent). (c) Have graduated with a university degree. Be computer literate in standard software applications.
Languages Required: Fluency in oral and written English is required.
Languages Preferred: Knowledge of French and Spanish is desirable.
Contract Duration: Three to six months

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
