Overview

The UNEP FI Finance Administration Intern will support the UNEP FI Secretariat by extracting and analyzing data, reviewing obligations, and assisting with financial processes.

Tasks Summary
  • Extract and analyze large data sets to identify trends and patterns and derive financial insights.
  • Review obligations and assist with the necessary actions to close them.
  • Assist in drafting and preparing presentations and reports.
  • Assist FI Finance team with their invoicing process, by tracking invoices, filing the required paperwork, and assisting in following up with member institutions.
  • Draft, reconcile billing statements with balances on the receivable’s general ledger and monitor cash application deposits.
  • Maintain the record of members who have received bills for various sponsorships and memberships.
  • Assist in drafting responses to queries from UNEP FI members.
  • Assist in budgetary actions.
  • Assist to fill/complete vendor/supplier forms of UNEP FI members and upload invoices on vendor management systems.
  • Assist with UNEP FI website maintenance.
  • Support with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Experience Requirements

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.

Qualification Requirements
  • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
  • Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation. Final year undergraduate or master’s degree student in Business Administration, Finance, or a related area, or recently graduated (candidates are eligible for this position up to one year after the graduation date).
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in oral and written English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another UN Language is desirable.

Contract Duration: 6 Months

Work Modality: Remote or Geneva, Switzerland

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
