Develop and implement a cohesive, modern, and innovative visual identity for major UNEP campaigns and initiatives, requiring strong traditional graphic design expertise combined with advanced fluency in digital-first and social media-driven design.
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in graphic design, visual communication, or creative direction, preferably supporting international organizations or global public-facing campaigns, is required. Proven experience developing campaign visual identities, brand systems, and style guides from concept to execution, is required. Demonstrated experience producing assets across print, outdoor, digital, social media, web, and multimedia formats, is desirable. Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced, multicultural or international environment, is desirable.
An advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in graphic design, visual communications, or creative direction, is required. A first-level university degree, combined with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree. Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign; motion tools such as After Effects, is required. Demonstrated fluency in Canva, Figma, and comparable modern design platforms, including the development of scalable, brand-safe templates for non-designers, is desirable. Strong understanding of typography, layout systems, and contemporary design trends, is desirable. Working knowledge of accessibility, inclusive design, and brand compliance requirements is desirable.
Languages Required: Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.
