Overview

The Gender and Urban Safety Consultant will design and deliver a training course on gender, urban violence prevention, and the safe use of public spaces, targeting technical teams and teaching staff. The role aims to strengthen conceptual and applied understanding of these topics to inform public policies and pedagogical practices.

Tasks Summary
  • Develop training materials in slide presentation format.
  • Prepare technical support materials including a glossary and compilation of guides.
  • Design and deliver the training course.
  • Ensure integration of theoretical and practical content on gender, right to the city, and violence prevention.
  • Systematize training results in an activity report.
  • Ensure adoption of ethical principles during training delivery.
  • Participate in alignment, monitoring, and technical validation meetings.
  • Develop reports following ABNT guidelines.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum six (6) years of professional and/or academic experience in gender and urban safety in Brazil is required.
  • Good knowledge of international, national, and subnational good practices in gender-responsive urban planning is desirable.
  • Experience in capacity building and training of multidisciplinary teams in the public sector is desirable.
  • Previous experience within the UN system is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
  • Postgraduate degree (Latu Sensu or Stricto Sensu) in Urban Planning, Architecture and Urbanism, Social Science, Political Science, Law, International Relations, or related fields is required, or additional four (4) years of relevant experience to the post, beyond the requirement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Political Science, Law, International Relations, Architecture and Urbanism or related fields.
Other Details

Languages Required: • Excellent written and spoken Portuguese is required. • Fluency in Portuguese is required.

Contract Duration: Two (2) months

Work Modality: Home based

Remuneration: LICA 3 (part-time 70%)– BRL: 14.000 (Total net amount) • Payment 1 [40%]: Upon delivery and approval of Product 1 (BRL: 5.600) • Payment 2 [60%]: Upon delivery and approval of Product 2 (BRL: 8.400)
