Overview
The Food Security and Agriculture Sector Coordinator (SC) is a core member of the Food Security Cluster (FSC) Coordination team, responsible for ensuring timely, coherent, and effective food security interventions by mobilizing stakeholders to respond strategically to humanitarian crises.
Tasks Summary
- Facilitate timely, coherent, and coordinated food security and agriculture response.
- Enhance coordination by reinforcing linkages between relevant actors and partners.
- Ensure Food Security and Agriculture is represented in the overall humanitarian response.
- Inform strategic decisions of the Humanitarian Coordinator and Country Management Team.
- Coordinate, plan, and implement sector strategies, including preparedness and contingency planning.
- Support the development of advocacy messages.
- Participate in consultations on the alignment of LRP and UNSDCF cooperation frameworks.
- Ensure mainstreaming and promotion of inclusion, accountability to affected people, and protection.
- Undertake contingency planning and preparedness.
- Monitor and evaluate Cluster/Sector performance.
- Contribute to the Lebanon Response Plan (LRP) food security and agriculture sector situation analysis and the Humanitarian Needs Overview (HNO).
- Lead on the Integrated Phase Classification (IPC) for Food Security & Agriculture stakeholders.
- Lead and coordinate FSAS partner food security and agriculture strategy and annual response planning.
- Lead the review of partner projects submitted on the Humanitarian Project Cycle (HPC) online system.
- Ensure an inclusive governance structure for the sector and other coordination mechanisms.
- Maintain appropriate humanitarian coordination and information sharing mechanisms.
- Ensure the use and application of common standards and harmonization of programmatic responses.
- Represent FSAS partners and advocate on their behalf.
- Support on the reform of the Livelihood Sector and the Food Security & Agriculture Sector.
- Ensure monitoring of the response implementation and reporting.
- Ensure mainstreaming of cross-cutting and cross-sectoral issues.
- Undertake advocacy and resource mobilization on behalf of partners.
- Supervise the IMO and provide guidance to co-chairs and other team members.
Experience Requirements
At least eight (8) years of postgraduate progressively responsible professional experience in food security sector/cluster management, emergency response, emergency assistance, and/or strategic/operational aspects of national, bilateral or multilateral food aid.
Qualification Requirements
Advanced University degree (Masters) in food security, agriculture, economics, humanitarian affairs or related field or first university degree with additional years of related experience.
