Overview

The Cancer Care Officer will support the implementation of a comprehensive cancer care project and provide technical input for planning and implementation of strategies for screening and early detection of cancers.

Tasks Summary
  • Support the implementation of ‘Mission Umeed’ – a comprehensive cancer care project in the state of Punjab.
  • Provide technical input for the planning and implementation of strategies for screening and early detection of oral, breast, and cervical cancers.
  • Assist in operationalizing and updating cancer care management guidelines and SOPs.
  • Provide technical support for the establishment of Day care cancer chemotherapy centers.
  • Conduct field visits to program states and districts to provide technical supervision and support.
  • Support cancer research to generate evidence for programmatic decision-making.
  • Collect, collate, and analyze data from the National NCD Portal and other sources to monitor the progress of Oral, Cervical and Breast cancer indicators.
  • Provide technical support to field teams for capacity building, program monitoring, and surveillance activities related to cancer.
  • Review surveillance data to assess adherence and performance in cancer care and NCD control.
  • Provide technical support for the childhood cancer.
  • Support preparation of reports, presentations, and technical documents as per WHO standards and requirements.
  • Review and provide technical input for contractual proposals.
  • Work closely with NCD officers of WCO at national level.
  • Undertake any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support the overall objectives of the NCD program.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum one year experience at the National level including some work experience in Cancer Care.
  • Work experience in Government/social sector will be an asset.
Qualification Requirements
  • University degree in medical science or equivalent from a recognized University or any significant health-related degree from a recognized university.
  • Postgraduate degree in public health or Public Health administration is desirable.
Other Details

Languages Required: • Expert knowledge of English. • Intermediate knowledge of Hindi.

Contract Duration: 12 months

Work Modality:

Remuneration: • Monthly remuneration is 157,449 taxable as per Indian laws.
