Overview
The Driver will be responsible for driving office vehicles for official purposes, performing miscellaneous office support functions, and ensuring the day-to-day maintenance of assigned vehicles.
Tasks Summary
- Drive office vehicles for official purposes.
- Perform miscellaneous office support functions, such as messenger services and making photocopies.
- Collect and deliver mail, pouch etc. as part of clerical support.
- Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc., perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs, and ensure that the vehicle is kept clean.
- Be up to date on insurance requirements for vehicles and driving.
- Keep records of use of vehicles, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing and other services.
- Ensure that UN security requirements and advice are complied with for driving the vehicle.
- Assist in logistics and operational activities of the office as required.
- Perform other related duties as and when assigned by the Supervisor.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of two (2) years driving experience, a safe driving record, working experience as a driver in any UN system organization will be considered as an advantage.
Qualification Requirements
Education – Primary education, valid driving licence, knowledge of driving, rules & regulations and skills in minor vehicle repairs. – Basic literacy on operating computer.
