Overview
IRC is establishing a roster of casual drivers to support operations, ensuring safe, timely, and compliant movement of staff, goods, and documents within Abuja. Casual drivers will be engaged on an as-needed basis.
Tasks Summary
- Operate assigned vehicle safely and defensively, adhering to speed limits, traffic laws, and organizational SOPs.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Report mechanical issues immediately.
- Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks.
- Ensure valid vehicle documents are present.
- Keep daily movement plans.
- Monitor route/security advisories and follow movement approvals.
- Apply passenger safety rules.
- Maintain zero tolerance for alcohol and drugs while on duty.
- Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.
- Support airport/guest assistance.
- Keep vehicles clean and ensure accessories function properly.
- Safeguard vehicle keys and prevent unauthorized use.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years verifiable driving experience with INGO, UN, corporate or government entities preferred.
- Driver must have clear eyesight.
- Clean driving record: No major violation in the last 24 months.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge (fluid, tire changes, jump starts).
Qualification Requirements
• Valid Nigerian driver’s license (appropriate category for light vehicles).
