Overview
The Global Roving Emergency Education Specialist provides technical development, strategic direction, and quality assurance for Education programming in country operations, including supporting country office start-up, first phase response, and gap filling.
Tasks Summary
- Develop education strategy, technical guidance, and Macro logframes.
- Contribute to fundraising, develop and revise funding proposals, budgets, and donor reports.
- Provide technical direction and project implementation support.
- Contribute to Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and extract key learnings.
- Work jointly with other Core Competencies to address barriers to education.
- Contribute to the institutionalization of cash-based interventions and market-based programmes.
- Provide systematic training and build capacity of technical staff.
- Ensure compliance and adherence to NRC policies, guidance, and procedures.
- Undertake line management responsibilities when deployed as Education PDM.
- Represent NRC in relevant forums/clusters, including with national authorities and donors.
- Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of experience within education in a humanitarian/recovery context.
- Experience in development and implementation of policy/strategic guidance, and practical tools and resources.
- Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts (international) with First-Line Education Response expertise.
- Experience with start-up, scale-up or medium to large scale emergencies.
